ANDARE’S TOMB

Andare was a country jester who lived during the 18^th century. It is believed that Andare was born in Dondra – in Southern Sri Lanka and he spent his last part life in South. It is said that one day he suddenly fell ill on his way to his way to his home town and he had passed away under a tree. Andare was a very creative poet who could compose instate poems to until any situations. It is said that the king had immediately visited to see andare’s dead body after hearing .

A tomb and a monument have been built on the banks of the Udahamala wewa in Matara were Andare is believed to have dead.
