Nupe Olanda Marketing Center

The building is two kilometres away from Matara and belongs to the early era of English rule built by Dutch architects. This building in the Nupe Divisional Secretariat Division has been constructed to be used as a market during the British occupation in Matara. The building, built on open pillars in the shape of the English “T” letter, is tiled to the slate. The front side is 200 feet long and 30 feet wide and has a wooden shell. The building has been renovated by the Urban Development Authority.
