77th Indian Republic Day celebration
Ruhunu Tourism Bureau Chairman P.G.G.S. Jayan and Managing Director Nishantha Samarathunga participated in the 77th Indian Republic Day celebration organized by the Consulate General of India in Hambantota on the 26th afternoon.
During the event, appreciation was expressed for the strong and growing cooperation between India and Sri Lanka, with special gratitude to the Government of India for its continuous support toward tourism development in Sri Lanka’s Southern Province. Notably, Indian tourists remain the largest and most valued visitor group to the Southern region.
The celebration was attended by Consul General of India in Hambantota Mr. Harvinder Singh, the Governors of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces, Deputy Minister of Provincial Councils Mr. Ruwan Senerath, Minister of Women and Child Affairs Mrs. Saroja Paulraj, and other distinguished government officials and Members of Parliament.
