A vibrant Bak Maha Festival
A vibrant Bak Maha Festival celebrating traditional Sri Lankan games and cultural festivities was recently held at the Ayurveda Lawrence Paradise Hotel in Hikkaduwa.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Ruhunu Tourist Bureau, Mr. P.G.G.S. Jayan, as an invitee. The festival beautifully showcased Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage, traditional customs, and Avurudu games, offering both local and international visitors a unique and immersive experience.
Special appreciation was extended to the hotel’s owner, Ms. Christine Keusch, for creating an opportunity to share authentic Sri Lankan traditions with tourists. Such initiatives not only promote our cultural identity but also play a vital role in attracting greater international interest in Sri Lankan celebrations and heritage.
The Chairman emphasized that this serves as an excellent example for other hotels and tourism service providers. He also commended the efforts of the hotel’s Managing Director, Mr. Ranga, expressing confidence that similar initiatives will continue to grow across the Southern Province, bringing Sri Lankan New Year celebrations to the global stage.
The event was attended by in-house guests, local government representatives, hotel staff, and many others, making it a truly memorable cultural celebration.
