The Ruhunu Tourism Bureau has addressed the fundamental suggestions and complaints received from the public regarding the issues and shortcomings at the Diyadam Uyana premises, which it manages. All necessary renovations have been completed to ensure the public can use the premises safely and without any hindrance.
Relevant institutions have been notified to inspect and provide recommendations for tasks that incur significant expenses, including rectifying land subsidence in several areas and properly restoring defective parts of the electrical system. Accordingly, a team of engineers has inspected the site and is currently preparing the necessary recommendations. Furthermore, hazardous areas showing signs of sinking around the main building have been clearly marked.
Expressing his views to the media during a site inspection, the Chairman of the Ruhunu Tourism Bureau, Mr. P.G.G.S. Jayan, briefed them on the current situation and the next steps. These remarks were featured in the "Gamata Aruna" special segment of the Aruna newspaper on May 7 (yesterday).
