Strengthening Tourism Cooperation Between Southern Sri Lanka and India
Mr. P.G.G.S. Jayan, Chairman of the Ruhunu Tourism Bureau, met with the Consul General of India, Mr. Harvinder Singh, on December 23 at the Consulate General’s office in Hambantota.
The discussion focused on strengthening tourism ties in the Southern Province, with a key emphasis on Providing Hindi language training for local tourism service providers, promoting community-based tourism by introducing new travel destinations to Indian tourists & exploring potential investment opportunities within the regional tourism sector.
The Chairman expressed his gratitude to the Consul General for his consistent support toward the Ruhunu Tourism Bureau and the development of the Southern Province. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to fostering long-term collaboration to enhance the tourism industry in the region.
